Réduction des services Google map à "Google Hybrid

Nouvelles photos aériennes disponibles (même hors ligne !)

Maps are an important prerequisite for the exact location of observations. In ornitho.de we therefore offer different maps to choose from and are always trying to improve and update them. In April 2019 we have added the map "TopPlusOpen", which is a very useful map and a good alternative for the somewhat outdated topographic maps. Since February 2020, the continuously updated "OpenStreetMap Live" has supplemented the selection.

Thanks to the trustful cooperation with the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation and the the federal states within the framework of the administrative agreement on bird monitoring, aerial photographs of the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) are available as of today with a very high resolution (ground resolution 20 cm) as an additional layer. They are also available in NaturaList and can also be used offline, i.e. you can download them prior to an excursion or of a mapping as part of the Common Breeding Bird Survey. This was not possible with the aerial photographs provided by Google. The aerial photographs are directly integrated via a web service of the BKG and are continuously updated. We thank the BKG for the very uncomplicated and good cooperation!

The integration was implemented within the framework of the research and development project "Acceleration of data flow in bird monitoring: Implementation", which is funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation with funds from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

Note: In combination with the above-mentioned maps, at least equivalent alternatives to most Google map services are now available. Therefore only "Google Hybrid" will be available soon. For all those who had set aerial photographs provided by Google as their standard map, the aerial photographs of the BKG have already been set as the standard map.

We have also used the changes to re-sort the map layers and give them more uniform names.

The team of ornitho.de wishes you delightful observations during spring migration!
